My installation checks for existence of file basecsp.dll (Microsoft Base Smart Card Cryptographic Service Provider) in System32 folder. The check was intended for old Windows XP machines that do not have it installed by default. But now I have a case where it was missing from Windows 10 machine. How can that be? Did they change the name of the file? Is it stripped from some distribution? What should the user do to enable it, or if it is enabled how should I verify that?
