time of all child processes doesn't come close to time of parent process

Today is my first day using R's profvis::profvis function and it seems very useful.

It seems to me, though, that the sum of the time taken by all the children of a process should approximately sum to the time of the process itself.

But I've observed that this isn't true with stats::glm. (See attached picture, a screenshot from the profiling pane of RStudio.)

Where have I gone wrong?

EDIT: I am an idiot -- these numbers add up to 1180, very close to their stated sum of 1200. Please ignore this question! (Can't delete it.)
